What we’re noticing:
- It is very dry. We have not had significant rain or anything close to average for weeks.
- We’re still in a Level 3 drought (Drought.gov)
-
- How dry is level three? Lake Minnetonka is down more than a foot. They aren’t letting any water out into Minnehaha Creek… Minnehaha falls is dry now! (picture from Oscar Aquino in Quirky Minnesota Places Facebook group)
What we’re doing:
- We’re finishing up our end-of-summer special services such as Mosquito spraying, landscape bed treatments, and aeration and overseeding
- We’re also working hard to get our Fall Applications down as much as possible before we have to start dancing around the leaves.
What you can be doing:
- Don’t lower you mower deck any more until we get some significant rainfall or we get toward the end of October
- Water as much as you can. Crank that irrigation system up and drag that hose out in accordance with our guide.
