What we’re noticing:

  • No significant change from previous weeks. Drought conditions have expanded in Hennepin County but lawns are looking deceptively good.
  • The leaves are changing! And falling.

What we’re doing:

  1. We’re doing our Fall applications to wrap up the season. Check the subsection on this blog post to learn more about our Fall application

What you can be doing:

  1. It is important to continue watering and in excess of what is normal due to our 3.5″+ deficit.
  2. It’s a 50/50 on dropping your mowing height. Normally this time of year is correct to be lowering your mowing height and it probably won’t hurt but we haven’t been this dry for this long since 2013 – we weren’t recoding blogs or data back then so we don’t have a definitive instruction on what to do. If you keep your mowing height the same, I won’t fault you. If you incrementally lower it, I won’t fault you. 🤷
