What we’re noticing:

  • We got a good rain yesterday BUT it’s far from a “drought buster”. Some spots in our service area received up to 1/2″. Our deficit was over 2.5″ prior to the rain so we’re still very behind. See below post for detailed weather information.

  • It will be interesting to see how the lawns respond to this rain and what will happen if we don’t get much more rain that would maintain the turf’s recovery

What we’re doing:

  1. We’re finishing up our Spring apps this week, controlling broadleaf weeds and crabgrass. We’re also hoping for more rain

What you can be doing:

  1. Don’t mow during the high heat of the day!

  2. Mow as high as your mower will go – if you need to mow at all

  3. Water appropriately (amount and timing are both important!)
