There’s lots of great companies out there but there’s some not-so great ones in our area… Quick tips:

1.Ensure the company and specifically the applicator who is doing your property is correctly licensed using the search below

     2. What if the company isn’t correctly licensed? In 2023, hundreds of clients of a local Rockford, MN company were sued by the company’s own insurance provider for hiring them (without correct license). Google “American Family Mutual Insurance Company v. outdoor” to read about it for yourself

• • Needless to say; if that unlicensed company does significant human, property or environmental damage to you, your family, your property, your neighbors’, etc. – your insurance will not cover you.

     3. There are local companies that have a history of bankruptcy. Google ““Minnesota bankruptcy court” landscape“

• • Ensure that low price, fancy truck, and beautiful website isn’t just a flash-in-the-pan for you.

     4. Lastly; there’s some really dishonest players in this industry. Especially one that’s really BooMean.

  • Google “[company name] lies” to read reddit and better business bureau experiences
  • Google “[company name] sent me to collections”
